National Art Honor Society

A National Art Honor Society is being established this school year to inspire and recognize students who have shown an outstanding ability and interest in art. The program supports members in their efforts to attain the highest standards in art scholarship, character, and service, and to bring art education to the attention of the school and community.

The National Art Honor Society is  designed by NAEA to support and recognize students who have shown outstanding abilities in art. The NAHS supports student members in their goal of attaining the highest standards in visual arts, and brings visual arts education to the attention of the school and community.

Students become members of a distinguished group of 58,000+ outstanding art students nationwide, gain peer recognition, leadership growth opportunities, college and career preparation, and an unmatched sense of camaraderie.

Membership in this chapter shall be based upon art scholarship, service, and character. To be eligible for selection to membership in this chapter, the candidate must be a high school student enrolled in grade 9, 10, 11, or 12 in this school, and have completed a period equivalent to one semester of art in this school.  An eligible candidate shall have a minimum art scholarship average of B, and a GPA of 3.25.    Members may remain active during times when there is no art on their class schedule, as long as they maintain eligibility criteria for membership.
