Profile

I am thrilled to serve as an educator at my alma mater! I literally grew up in the halls of AHS where my mother taught and I attended. I left to attend college in Washington, DC on a swimming scholarship and stayed in the DC area for almost 20 years, with a one-year hiatus in Kansas City. Life afforded me many opportunities in government relations, communications, and public relations before entering education in Montgomery County, MD. I returned to TN in 2008 with my husband and two children. We (my husband is a high school math teacher) helped open Hardin Valley Academy in Knox County. I joined the AHS staff in 2012.

Throughout my 20-year teaching career, I have taught many Social Studies courses - AP US Government & Politics, AP European History, Statewide Dual Credit American History, US Government, US History, Economics, Personal Finance, World Geography, Film Studies, and Contemporary Issues. I currently teach AP US Government & Politics, US Government, and Film Studies. I serve as the Social Studies department chair and co-sponsor of the AHS Scholar's Bowl team.

It is an honor to educate our nation's future professionals and leaders. Go Tornadoes!!
