Faculty Bio

Mr. Anthony Terry is in his 19th year of teaching middle and high school band. He is in his third year as the Director of Bands at Alcoa High School. Mr. Terry is a graduate of Science Hill High School in Johnson City, TN. He received his Bachelors of Music degree from East Tennessee State University in 2000 where he studied tuba. After graduation, Mr. Terry began his teaching career in Carter County, teaching at Hampton Elementary and Hampton High School. In 2004, he moved to Sevier County where he began teaching at New Center Elementary School. In 2006, he accepted the head band director position at Pigeon Forge High School. In 2016, Mr. Terry earned his Masters in Music Education from the University of Florida. After 12 years at Pigeon Forge High School, he accepted the position at Alcoa High School.
 
Mr. Terry is a member of the East Tennessee School Band and Orchestra Association, Tennessee Secondary Schools Band Director Association and the National Association for Music Education. Mr. Terry resides in Sevierville with his wife Becky, who is the band director at Northview Academy, and their 11 year old daughter, Abby.
