Body System Education Assignment Directions (Standards 7 & 8) 

Work with your group to develop a Google Slide Presentation that covers the following information: 


Body System Overview: What are the main functions of your body system? What body processes is your system involved in, and what is its role in each of those processes? 


Organs: What are the main organs in your body system? What are their main functions? Include a diagram showing the organs in your system.
 
Homeostasis: What are signs/symptoms of a balanced, healthy system?


Wellness Issue & Health Promotion: Explore stress and how it affects your body system. What are signs/symptoms of stress in your system? How can we treat/prevent stress related to our body system? Research and determine one community support system for reducing/dealing with stress as it relates to your system. 

Your presentation should be professional, include appropriate pictures, and be free from spelling/grammar errors. You will present these in class. Each group member should have a defined role (they should complete a specific part of the assignment and present that part of the assignment).

If one of the careers listed is not one you are interested in, you may choose another career to complete the second portion of the assign on, BUT IT MUST BE LISTED AS A THERAPEUTIC SERVICES CAREER ON ONET!

Using Google Drawings, you will create a poster of the chain of infection for a specific communicable disease.
- Use the ENTIRE paper to create a colorful chain of infection.
- Use words to describe each link and explain each link.
- Use pictures to support your information (at least 1 for each link)
- In the middle, include common signs/symptoms of your disease

You will research a person who was significant to the evolution of healthcare and research the following: 
Birth date and location
Early Life
Education & Training
Contribution to healthcare (include details about this contribution such as: DATE, how it works, what it meant to people then, etc.)
Influence on healthcare today (Link them to modern innovations/practice)
You must document at least THREE SOURCES where you found/compared this information. 
Compile relevant pictures you find throughout your research.

VISUAL:
You will have 2 visuals for this project. One will be an object that represents your person in some way. It should be able to sit on or near a table. You can find an object here at school.

For the other visual, you will create ONE of the following:
Google Slide Presentation including information and pictures that is both educational and professional. 
Poster including information and pictures that is both educational and professional 


PRESENTATION: 
Next week, you will PRESENT the information to the class using your tabletop object and either your Google Slide Presentation or Poster. Your presentation should be professional, like a speech, where you refer to your visuals as appropriate. Your presentation should be delivered in FIRST person. Extra credit will be given if you choose to dress like your influencer! 


Deliverables:
- Research Notes (digital or handwritten showing where all research topics were addressed)
- Presentation

Create a Google Doc and answer the following questions using complete sentences. Each bullet point should be answered with 3-4 sentences. Make sure you answer each question thoroughly.

After you complete the traits and skills research and in-class discussion. Create a google doc and write a reflection covering the following questions:

Summarize your personality type. Include general characteristics, how you communicate with others, how you work as a member of a team, and anything else that stands out to you.
Compare your personality traits with healthcare traits and soft skills you identified. What are some professional traits and soft skills you feel you do well? Explain. (I am good at X because of Y…)
Choose one trait or soft skill you would like to improve on this semester. Discuss how you will work to improve this. What you might need from your peers or instructor to help you with this?
