Swim & Dive

Welcome to the Alcoa High School Swim & Dive Team!

We are excited to revive the winning legacy of Alcoa Swimming and Diving for the upcoming 2024-2025 season.

What do you need to know?

SEASON

November through January. Optional practices will start in mid-October, and the season will extend into February for those who qualify for the TISCA State Championships. We are happy to be flexible and work with you if you have other obligations to sports, music, or other activities on campus.

PRACTICES

Practices will be held late in the evening at the Green Meadow Country Club pool. The specific days/times are TBD.

While it is preferred that you have some experience and are comfortable in the water, our coaching staff is prepared to teach you everything you need to know in order to progress in either discipline: swim or dive.

MEETS

We will have a handful of dual/tri meets. These are laid-back, low-pressure weeknight meets. Participating in dual/tri meets is the best way to gain experience and learn how meets work.

We will participate in one Regional Invitational (Ray Bussard Invitational) in late November and one Regional Championship (KISL Championship) at the end of January. These are Championship-style, larger meets in which all of the high schools in our region, from Chattanooga to Cocke County, will participate.

Those who achieve qualifying standards for our TISCA State Championship will alternate traveling as a team to either the UT or Vanderbilt campuses to compete at the largest high school meet in the state against all other Tennessee swimmers and divers. More information, including qualifying times, can be found here: https://www.gomotionapp.com/team/hstisca/page/home

FEES

There will be a minimal fee for the season. This will go directly to paying for pool time, meet entry fees, and other necessary expenses. We will also have some fundraising activities to help supplement costs.

You will be responsible for purchasing your own swimwear and goggles. All other equipment will be provided.

ELIGIBILITY

If you are an Alcoa High School Student, a student at Clayton-Bradley Academy grades 9-12, or a homeschool student who lives in the Alcoa City Schools District, you are eligible to compete with Alcoa Swim & Dive in our local KISL Region.

For our state qualifiers who attend Clayton Bradley or are part of a statewide Homeschool Umbrella with an established team, you will participate in the TISCA State Swimming and Diving Championships as a separate team. However, you may still participate in all dual and regional meets together with Alcoa.

We hope you will be a part of creating a lasting legacy with Alcoa Swim & Dive!
