Personal Finance is a foundational course designed to inform students how individual choices directly influence occupational goals, future earning potential, and long term financial well-being. The standards in this course cover decision making skills related to goal setting, earning potential, budgeting, saving, borrowing, managing risk, and investing. This course helps students meet the growing complexities of personal financial management and consumer decision making. Standards are aligned with theNational Standards for Financial Literacy. This course is required for graduation.

1. Today we will research and start buying stocks. We will buy 5 stocks with our $10,000 spending around $2000 on each.
2. To buy a stock first Pick a stock and know it's ticker symbol. The go to Make a trade in the blue up top . Fill in the ticker symbol and then the quantity of shares. When you put in a ticker symbol a graph and price per share will come up. Next put in a number of shares keep changing that number till you get a total close to $2000. Then click preview order and then click complete order.
3. After buying the stock you need to fill in the portfolio sheet. All the informationfor the portfolio sheet will come from the quotes page. Find the quotes page on the blue line at the top.
4. On the quotes page look to the right of the graph to find the information for the portfolio sheet. To find the Sector and industrylook on the left side of the quotes page to the "company profile" click on it. Scroll down and you will see the Sector and Industry. Fill the information in the blanks on you portfolio sheet.
