Please, please, please, make every effort to be the in Lyceum at 7:45.  We are hoping to get the GAVE 2 -- holidays off on time with everyone in the same room, so your punctual attendance is mandatory.  I"ve contacted Advisory and 1st period teachers.  You shouldn't need to worry about checking in with any teachers before we start. 

Some of you have written and posted your holiday traditions.  Thank you.  You are the best ever.  Others????  What's keeping you from finishing your assignment I gave you several weeks ago?

The Berliners are starting to comment on them.  You can comment on each others from AHS if you want to.  But you will be assigned to make two comments on two Berliners -- and to answer anyone who comments on your post -- after they get theirs posted to us.  Since they have class on Monday before we get to school, they may all appear then.  

I have not given Frau Schumann and Frau Kurzmann a list of partners.  It'll be easier if they just put people into breakout rooms and we can move ourselves around the Lyceum.  It may be a disaster, but it's worth a try!!!

Get back into your GAVE TASKCARDS account.  There you will see information for our second GAVE project about Holidays.  Your assignment is to prepare information about your favorite holiday. You can design a page about your traditions, family and friends, activities.  Frau Schumann has suggested CANVA as a website with templates you can use, but I am not familiar with it.  I can suggest google slides or document where you include text boxes and import photos.  

This will be due on Tuesday, November 28.  The next two days are English 1 and 2 testing, so many of my students will not be in class.  On Friday is the state championship (I hope we get to go).  So we will not see each other from Tuesday until the next Monday when we will be doing the GAVE video chat with the Berlin students.  

Do the following:  When you get into your TaskCard account, go to the column with your food photos.  Click on your title for the first photo.  A menu appears with three dots on the far right.  There you can click on NEW CARD BEFORE.  That will put this new work above your food work.  

Upload a sheet you create about your favorite holiday.

Make a video of yourself singing/saying these four songs. I've recorded myself so you can practice.  I will watch your eyes, so you better memorize them.  Due Tuesday before Thanksgiving

I marked off the students who made the 2 comments on 2 people.  I did this on Friday.  It had been due Friday morning after having been due on Wednesday.  These students had comments Tremayne, Brandon, Dayana, Chase, Dante, Ruthie, Jack, Nash, Cole, Jessica.  I know that because they had written their names.  Hannah and Eli had 9 each???

Hey, sorry it's taking so long to get an assignment created for you today.  My colleagues in Berlin have allowed us to see the TaskCards of their pupils now.  I'm providing the link below.  You should be able to access it through the email invitation you received from SchulCloud Brandenburg. (You need to create an account first.  It may be easier if you are using a device that does not have an AHS firewall on it.  So use your phone. Once I created my account, I was able to use my school laptop on it.)

Assignment:
1. Look at the spread sheet that shows who your US partners are and who your German partners will be also.  Check back again on the SchulCloud because hopefully it will be updated by the students with more photos.  
2. Each AHS student is required to make comments on two photos that each RHG partner has posted.  Comments can express agreement with a meal, ask questions about ingredients or presentations, etc.  Don't just say, "It looks tasty."  Make a comment about why it looks tasty.  
3.  PLEASE be in the assigned rooms by 8 am with your chromebook open to the Task Cards and your phone ready at the SchulClould Brandenburg website.  Our invitation to join the video call should come through there.  Make sure your microphone is off and your camera is on.  If you are having difficulty signing in or whatever, you can use Googledy Chat to contact me or Herr Dr. Lay.  If you need to call my classroom phone, it is extension 4114.

So according to sources far smarter than I (Hannah, Herr Dr. Lay und Frau Schumann and Frau Kurzmann), you need to complete the registration for SchulCloud Brandenburg.  (You choose a language and receive a code.). Then you have to go to teams section and accept the invitation to join GAVE 2023.  Then you will be invited to join the video chat on Wednesday morning.  You will still need to go to the TaskCards assignment that I put in the other Googledy Classroom assignment to see the photos of your German partners.  

In summary, the video chat is through SchulCloud.  The food assignment is in TaskCards.

Find your name in the columns to the right.  They are alphabetized.  Add your photos of your meals by adding a new box, labeled for each meal.  You are to make photos of 3 days worth of meals.
