DYATD: Health Education Plan (AFTER DIAGNOSIS CONFIRMED)

To educate your “Diagnosis You Are the Doctor” patient about their disease, you will develop a detailed health education plan. Your plan should include:
Overview of Diagnosis: general information about the disease: what it is, what causes it, signs/symptoms (include what the patient might be experiencing and a reason that it might be happening, prognosis (can this disease effect the patient long term? how?)
Transmission: How its spread, would this person be put on transmission-based precautions in the hospital? (If so, which one?), PPE and asepsis practices that the patient can use to prevent spread, PPE and asepsis practices the patient should expect to see healthcare
Screenings or Diagnostic Testing: how can we check for this disease, how were they diagnosed
Pharmacological Needs/Treatment: Medications or procedures needed to treat disease
Signs and symptoms of exacerbation: What should the patient monitor themselves for that would be a sign they were getting worse and not better
Support Systems: What organizations/meetings in this region might the patient attend or contact to receive help (money for treatment costs/mental health support/research/etc.)
Preventive measures: Include and describe examples of what the patient or anyone can do to prevent this disease?
Create a professional google slide presentation you could print and use as to teach your patient. The first slide should include the disease name, the patient name, and your name. The last slide should include 3 sources in alphabetical order. Include throughout your presentation where you used each source.
Make sure this is written in "patient friendly" terminology. Do not use terminology that your patient might not understand. Pictures are also used to explain things.

Therapeutic Careers Research in Google Classroom

Therapeutic Careers Research

Use the O*NET website link below to research therapeutic careers and complete a table that includes each career's scope of practice, required knowledge and skills, and evaluation of traits.
As you choose careers, make sure they are considered THERAPEUTIC careers. BEFORE MOVING ON TO COMPLETING ALL YOUR RESEARCH...show your list of 10 careers to the instructor for feedback. Also, choose careers that are most interesting to you. Later this week, you will use this research to help you decide what career opportunities will be available at your hospital. You will also use this research when working with a group to create a career recruitment video for your facility.

I have attached a copy of the table you will work on in class (in case you are absent), but you need to complete this assignment by hand (not typed). Be thorough, but selective about the information you include!

When you have finished and turned in your research, you may click submit.
