Due:
Choose a partner, and complete the body project worksheet. You can use your chromebook to help you identify the organs that can be found in each body system and cavity. Once you have completed the worksheet and shown it to the teacher, get a piece of butcher paper that is the size of the shortest person in your group. You will then have the shortest person lie down, and the other partner will trace that person. Once the person has been traced, you will draw the organs you have found, color, and label them. Be sure to include the cavities and quadrants as seen on the left side of your worksheet.
Your worksheet provides further instructions. You will work on this on Monday and Wednesday, and it will be due on Thursday. Be sure to put your name on it, and at the end of each class roll it up like a scroll and place it on the bench under the window.

Essential Question:
You are working as a school nurse, and currently there is an outbreak of the “stomach flu” going around the staff and students. How could you promote good hand hygiene to prevent further spread of infection?
Using Canva create an educational poster that can be posted to help prevent the spread of infection. You need to include:
- Why hand hygiene is important
-When should you wash your hands and when hand sanitizer is appropriate
- The steps to correctly wash your hands. (Put this in regular terms, not medical terms)
-Who should practice hand hygiene
Criteria for Evaluation
Content (40%)
Accuracy: All information about hand hygiene, germ spread, and infection prevention is factually correct.
Relevance: The content directly addresses the prompt's scenario and provides clear, practical advice for a school setting.
Completeness: The poster includes the following essential information:
Why hand hygiene is important (e.g., how germs spread).
When to wash hands (e.g., after using the restroom, before eating, after sneezing/coughing).
How to properly wash hands (the correct steps).
Who should practice hand hygiene (everyone—students and staff).
Design & Visual Appeal (30%)
Clarity: The layout is organized and easy to follow. Information is presented logically, and the text is legible from a distance.
Visuals: The poster uses relevant images, diagrams, or illustrations that enhance the message. Visuals should be clear, high-quality, and help to simplify complex information (e.g., a step-by-step diagram of handwashing).
Aesthetics: The poster is creative, colorful, and eye-catching to capture the attention of a school audience.
Originality: The design is original and not simply a copy of existing posters.
Clarity & Language (20%)
Conciseness: The text is brief and to the point. Avoid lengthy paragraphs. Use bullet points or short phrases to communicate information effectively.
Audience Appropriateness: The language is simple and easy for both young students and adults to understand. Avoid jargon or overly technical terms.
Tone: The tone is encouraging and positive, motivating the audience to practice good habits without causing fear or alarm.
Overall Impact (10%)
Effectiveness: The poster successfully communicates a compelling message that would likely motivate a school community to improve their hand hygiene.
Professionalism: The final product is neat, well-constructed, and demonstrates a high level of effort.
