***PLEASE READ BEFORE DOING ASSIGNMENT***
Watch the video on delta math. The video was from a study guide I did with my class a few years ago. The video only goes over a few of the problems on the study guide (although the process of solving absolute value equations is mentioned verbally). Before watching the video, include what is enclosed in ** below in your notes:
******
Solving Absolute Value Equations.
Steps to Solve -
1.) Begin by making sure the absolute value bars are isolated. If there are numbers outside of the absolute value expression, use inverse operations to remove them.
2.) Once the absolute value bars are isolate, if the solution on the other side of the absolute value expression is negative, you will have no solutions and won't need to move on to step 3. An absolute value expression can never equal a negative number.
3.) If the number is positive, set the "inside" expression equal to both the positive and negative number on the other side of the equal sign.
4.) Solve both equations.
5.) Write your answer as a solution set (x = {____, _____}
*******
In addition to what is written above, include all worked out examples in the video. Be sure to use headphones and actually listen to the video (the sub will be checking). Then, upload your notes to google classroom. You will not be able to use your phone, so please take a picture of your notes using your chromebooks. Once you are done, complete the delta math assignment and worksheet. Should you finish early, work on Khan Academy.
