Profile
Katie Ferrell
After working in non-profit mental health, I transitioned to school counseling in order to work with students from all backgrounds and walks of life. My first job as a school counselor was at William Blount High School, and I have been a school counselor here at Alcoa High School since 2014. Education is a family business, as I come from a long line of educators; my husband, maternal grandparents, mother, father, sister, aunt, and uncle are current and retired teachers/administrators in our local schools. I love working in and for the community where I live and raise my children, and my family has deep roots in the Alcoa community. My paternal grandmother, father, and sister are all Alcoa High School alumni, and my paternal grandfather worked for the City of Alcoa for his entire career in various departments and leadership roles. To me, Alcoa means family!
