Faculty Bio

Greetings! My name is Stephanie Bruce, and I am thrilled to be joining the Alcoa family this school year. I am beginning my 9th year as a full-time educator. In 2016, I moved from Michigan to Tipton County, Tennessee, where I landed a teaching position at Munford High School. While there, I taught Honors English I, English I, and Bible. In my time at MHS, I was named Munford High’s Teacher of the Year as well as Tipton County’s District-Level Teacher of the Year. I am passionate about learning, and I love and respect my students dearly.

In the classroom, I lead by example, modeling mutual respect, kindness, and exceptional work ethic. I believe student engagement is essential to the learning process and pursue it relentlessly, preparing and planning lessons that will spark excitement and growth in both reading and writing. I have been called a “warm demander” because I challenge students to grow but do so with a deep care for them as developing adults in an ever-changing world.

Education

I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree from Siena Heights University in Adrian, Michigan, where I majored in English and minored in Spanish. All secondary education preparation courses were completed at Siena Heights, where I graduated with highest honors in 1999.
