The goal of your work-basked learning portfolio is to provide you with a valuable resource as you transition from the world of academics into the workforce. The required materials in this portfolio can be made available to a prospective employer as a way of providing important information for making a hiring decision. A well-developed portfolio can provide you with an advantage over other job or college applicants.
Your portfolio can be in the form of a hard copy in a binder or cover, a Google Slide, a Google Site, or another appropriate format. If you use a digital format, make sure all documents are embedded and are accessible to all viewers. It is better to include an image of the document.
DO NOT JUST INCLUDE LINKS TO THE DOCUMENTS. Your portfolio should be visually appealing and must include the pages from the actual documents.

Due:
Write a cover letter for your resume. The attached document is filled with great information to help you write your cover letter. The purpose of this assignment is to give you the experience of writing a cover letter. This letter can be to a real person to whom you are going to give the letter, a real person two whom you would like to give the letter, or an imaginary person that represents the type of person to whom you want to submit the letter. Here are some ideas for people you could address with your cover letter:
The Dean of Admissions of a college.
The manager of a business to which you are applying for work.
The CEO of the corporation that represents your dream job.
The director of a non-profit with which you want to volunteer.
A company for which you want to intern.

Due:
Obtain one letter of recommendation.
The letter should be signed and, if applicable, on company letterhead.
You must have one letter of recommendation for each semester you are in work-based learning with a maximum required of three.
Include these letters in your portfolio.
For full credit, you need to get letters from different types of people. In other words, do not get all of your letters from teachers (a coach can count as a different type of person even if he/she is a teacher).
START ASKING FOR THESE EARLY. TEACHERS ESPECIALLY GET A LOT OF THESE REQUESTS.
