DE: Nursing Education I & II-2-3 Blocks Fall

Course Description

Nursing Education is a capstone course designed to prepare students to pursue careers in the field of nursing. Upon completion of this course, a proficient student will be able to implement communication and interpersonal skills, maintain patient and/or residents’ rights and independence, provide care safely, prevent emergency situations, prevent infection through infection control, and perform the skills required of a certified nursing assistant. At the conclusion of this course, if students have logged enough class and long-term care clinical hours in this Health Facilities Commission approved program, they are eligible to take the certification examination as a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA). This class is also considered dual enrollment and is part of TCAT Knoxville's Pre Practical Nursing Program.
